Taking an AP course (if the high school offers it) can help raise a student's GPA. Colleges look for course rigor, even in senior year. Why should a student take the AP test, which are given in May?
It will help prepare you for college courses, and if you pass the test, colleges will see that you are ready for college coursework.
Some colleges give credit for passing with a score of 4 or 5, eliminating having to take entry-level courses as a freshman. Others give credit for a score of 3 on certain tests. This will save you time in school and money on tuition.
Students with many AP's, could finish college on an accelerated schedule.
Sign-up for the AP test through your high school counseling department.
