My trip to see colleges in the Bay area of California the past few days took me to St Marys, a lovely, private school in Moraga. Their foundation is shaped by three traditions: Catholic, Lasallian, and liberal arts. Students receive education in the true sense of a liberal arts college, educating the whole student. They help change students into service leaders, twice per month traveling to San Francisco and surrounding areas to volunteer. They are the only CTCL (Colleges That Change Lives) school that is DI, Catholic and located in California. Students take courses in 4-1-4 terms; during 'Jan Term' taking a month long course outside of their major or studying abroad. Collegiate Seminar is the heart of Saint Mary's core curriculum .Students take four courses in literature and philosophy, history and political theory, art and science.
