The University of California and community colleges in California reached an agreement in April to guarantee admission for qualified students to transfer to the UC's. The agreement states the: "UC system will enroll at least one transfer student for every two first-year students and guarantee admission to the UC system for all qualifying California community college students …"
In July another agreement was reached through the Associate Degree for Transfer Pathway for more California students to transfer to private non-profit institutions . It guarantees admission to one of the following four-year California institutions; Mills College, Pepperdine University and Whittier College. With fewer students attending college, there is a push to make it easier for students to transfer community colleges.
